A veteran executive in the residential development business, Richard Schwartz previously oversaw home building operations in 21 communities in the Charlotte, NC, metropolitan area as a division president for DR Horton. In charge of 200 staff members and profit and loss responsibility, he led the division to achieve more than 1,000 home sales and over 800 closings in 2006. Richard Schwartz later founded and served as president of the home building company Calloway Homes.
Under his leadership, Calloway Homes grew to six locations and received designation as the fifth largest town home builder in Charlotte, NC, for 2008. Complementing his work in the home building sector, he has also owned and operated a property management and real estate agency.
Next joining Village Park Homes as vice president and COO, Mr. Schwartz led the residential development company to a two-fold increase in sales and revenue in 2014. He currently serves as president of the Hilton Head Island, South Carolina-based company and oversees the ongoing expansion of the Village Park Home community and homebuilding operations throughout the surrounding region.
At the University of Maryland, College Park, Mr. Schwartz earned a BA in urban studies with a concentration in real estate. He has also passed the National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies examination for commercial building contractors.
