Ramzi Khazen is an Austin attorney with a strong focus on intellectual property and patent litigation. Over the course of his career, Ramzi Khazen has represented both individual and institutional clients in cases involving computer and medical technologies, achieving settlements in the nine-figure range. He joined McKool Smith, PC, in 2008, and has been a principal attorney since 2013.
Prior to practicing at McKool Smith, Mr. Khazen was an associate attorney at Dewey & LeBoeuf, LLP, where he shepherded cases through the U.S. Federal District and International Trade Commission courts. In addition to working with intellectual property claimants, he was also involved in trademark and bankruptcy cases.
Ramzi Khazen received a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a member of the Tau Beta Pi engineering honors fraternity. He went on to earn his doctor of law from the University of Texas School of Law, where he served as the secretary of the Intellectual Property Law Society and worked on the Intellectual Property Law Journal.
