Marc Gerdisch

Dr. Marc Gerdisch is an award-winning cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon with almost three decades of medical experience working in Illinois, Indiana, and France. He has been named Indy’s Top Doctor by Indianapolis Monthly and among America’s Top Doctors by Castle Connelly for the past seven years. He has also received recognition from the city of Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Business Journal, and was the 2010 winner of the health science research award at the Mary Human Health Achievements Awards. Since 2006, Dr. Marc Gerdisch has served as chief of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at Franciscan Health, where he has overseen a doubling in the number of patients choosing to undergo cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries at the hospital. He has also established and serves as co-medical director of the Heart Valve Center and was the first surgeon in the world to implant a tissue-engineered regenerative tricuspid valve. The CorMatrix® ECM® Tricuspid Valve is the first and only tissue regenerative heart valve in the world.

Since 1994, Dr. Marc Gerdisch has served as a senior partner at Cardiac Surgery Associates, where he has helped build the second largest practice in the Cardiac Surgery Associates program. He began by establishing practices in the Chicago area, Urbana, and the Quad cities. Until 2006, he served as director of cardiovascular surgery at Central DuPage Hospital.

An active member of his community, Dr. Gerdisch serves on the board of directors of the Indianapolis chapter of the American Heart Association. He is also a member of the executive committee of 21st Century Cardiothoracic Surgical Society.
