With his experience and education in business finance, Lester Turnquest of Nassau, Bahamas, holds certifications in project organization, real estate, and portfolio management. Having served on economic advisement boards and appointed directorships over financial institutions, Lester Turnquest is now the managing director at The Green Bay Group, LTD located in Nassau, Bahamas.
In 1976, Mr. Turnquest received his certificate in business studies, mercantile law, and accounting from the London Chamber of Commerce and The Industry and Royal Society of Arts. Four years later, he graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and received his bachelor of science degree in economics. Also that year, Mr. Turnquest was certified in project organization implementation and management from the College of the Bahamas. While studying there, he furthered his financial education and also obtained his certifications in real estate product and portfolio management.
Concurrently, his education at the College of the Bahamas offered him student employment in the banking department at the Bahamas International Trust Company, LTD. He then worked as the executive officer in the revenue department at the Ministry of Finance, account administrator at CitiTrust (Bahamas) LTD, and vice president of Bank LEU, LTD. In 1997, he accepted a parliamentary position and a role as the Secretary for the Ministry of Health with the Bahamian government. Three years later, Mr. Turnquest worked with the Britannia Consulting Group and was later appointed to vice-president and managing director of Hampton Insurance Company, LTD.
