Responsibilities
- Worked with students enrolled in the Pathways to Education program in Regent Park to coach them in decisions about volunteering and mentoring opportunities and College and University applications
- Coached students in one-on-one sessions
- Facilitated weekly information meetings
- Managed resources and created tools to help students be concrete in making well informed decisions
Company Description
- The Pathways to Education Program is an initiative of the Regent Park Community Health Centre. Their Mission is to ensure that young people from at-risk and/or economically disadvantaged communities achieve their full potential by getting to school, staying in school, graduating and moving on to post-secondary programs. As part of an 8 week Practicum Term, I worked with one fellow student to initiate and develop a Career and Education Choice model for Grade 11 and 12 students preparing for College and University Applications
