A surgeon with more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Rajiv Datta began his studies at the University of Bombay’s Grant Medical College in India, where he studied medicine and surgery. After practicing medicine for several years, Dr. Rajiv Datta moved to the United Kingdom, where he treated patients at several hospitals, including The Royal Marsden Hospital and Grantham & Kesteven Hospital.
Transitioning to the United States, Dr. Rajiv Datta pursued further surgical training through an internship and residency at Maimonides Medical Center in New York City. His training also includes a research fellowship in surgical oncology at New York City’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and fellowship training in head and neck oncology as well as in surgical oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York. He leverages his extensive training to serve as chair of the Department of Surgery at South Nassau Communities Hospital in New York.
Dr. Datta maintains membership in numerous professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons and the American Head and Neck Society. Outside of his work at South Nassau Communities Hospital, he regularly reviews articles as an editor for the Journal of International College of Surgeons and Frontiers in Surgical Oncology, among other medical journals.
