For over 28 years, Danielle Kaliterna has served her community as an educator, leader, and mentor. Prior to taking her current position as a teacher at Redding School of the Arts in Redding, California, Danielle Kaliterna served in several California elementary schools, including Junction Elementary School and Cypress Elementary School, where she taught multiple grade levels.
Ms. Kaliterna prepared for her career at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California, earning a bachelor of arts in early childhood education and psychology. She also served as a lead teacher at the Arcata Children's Center.
In devoting her career to the local community, she has followed in the footsteps of her mother, Emma Kaliterna, a hairdresser who contributed to the Santa Clara community by raising more than $100,000 for civic institutions, including the Triton Museum, Harris-Lass House, the Santa Clara City Library, and local schools.
Outside of work, Danielle Kaliterna participates in Bible Study Fellowship and contributes to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society, as well as the national park system. She also enjoys traveling, reading, kayaking, and spending time with her pets.
