- Transferred from The Rezidor Hotel Group to Carlson in December 2009 as Executive Vice President Human Resources, also responsible for Internal Communication, Responsible Business and Safety & Security for The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Americas (700 hotels). In August 2010 the responsibility expanded to global head of Responsible Business, People Development and Safety & Security for Carlson. The purpose of the assignment was to implement best practise and align the organization, systems and programs to achieve a company Ambition 2015 strategy.
People Development
Implemented the premier “Business School @ Carlson” in 2010 to be a learning platform that drives revenue, quality and value. Under the umbrella of the business school, additional people development initiatives included:
Trained 150+ executives in LOTS, a logical business planning tool.
Launched “Adding Colour to Life” service training for Park Inn by Radisson.
Launched “The Heart of Radisson” and “Coaching for Success”. Radisson’s brand service training programme.
Launched “Living and Leading Responsible Business”, a 3.5 hour long training programme for all Carlson brands.
Developed new recruitment collateral and attended a variety of career fairs.
Responsible Business
Introduced a new Responsible Business programme for Carlson hotels Americas, including employee awareness campaign, handbook and appendices. Responsible Business training for hotel employees, managers and corporate.
Increased third party certifications from 20 – 100 hotels during one year.
Issued a Supplier Code of Conduct.
Earth Hour and Earth Day was promoted and best practice stories shared to further encourage engagement.
A first global Responsible Business Action Month was implemented, encouraging hotels to focus on educating, engaging, donating, building, visiting or cleaning.
Influenced Carlson to sign the United Nations Global Compact, which encourages businesses worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies.
Created and produced the first sustainability report for The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Americas.

Safety & Security
Appointed a Director of Safety & Security and implemented a new Safety & Security Programme.
The annual employee engagement score for my area of responsibility was 55% favourable when I took over leadership in 2009. The 2010 score increased to 72% favourable and the 2011 score is 92% favourable and among the internal top 25%. Supervisor effectiveness scored 83% favourable.
I was awarded “Order of the Golden Rose award” for my leadership in People Development and Responsible Business.
