Former financial executive Adam Benowitz transitioned into the media field in 2011. Joining with fellow financier Randy Cohen, veteran comedy managers Rick Dorfman and Conan Smith and client JB Smoove (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”), he founded the full-service management and media development agency Converge Media Group. As a partner with this entity, Benowitz plays an important role in the operations of the New York City-based company. He assists with producing programs for television and new media, meeting with talent, and coordinating distribution. Particularly interested in comedy shows and reality television, Adam Benowitz has developed a series about professional gamblers, interior designers, and the renowned conservatory The Juilliard School.
Benowitz earned a degree in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. Before entering business, he spent two years as a professional poker player and competed in two World Series of Poker tournaments. Moving into the stock market, Adam Benowitz was a stock broker, an equity derivatives trader, and a proprietary fixed-income trader for several firms in New York and Philadelphia.
